Management Development

Coaching

We believe that coaching is an excellent tool for improving the

performance of both individuals and teams. Our approach is usually

based on Whitmore’s ‘GROW model’ (Whitmore 2002), an effective way

helping people to reach their goals.

A recent example of coaching supported executive managers to

‘find their way’ through a period of intense organisational change.

This resulted in clear and effective actions that helped the organisation

to move forward with pace.

The Myers Briggs Type Indicator questionnaire is an effective tool for leadership development. It helps leaders to increase their self-awareness and through this to develop suitable leadership approaches. This can add value at all levels of leadership in an organisation. MBTI can also be used for team building and in change situations.

We offer a whole range of development solutions to help you and your team to become better leaders. Before we devise a programme, we will meet with you to gain an understanding of your development needs and your organisational culture. All of our programmes have clear learning objectives which are reviewed at the end of each session to check that they have been met. Evaluation of our programmes is important to us so that we and our clients can keep track of the effectiveness of our work.

Our programmes can be delivered as stand-alone one day sessions or as a management development programme running over a number of months. We take a creative approach to the design of our training to encourage the involvement of all participants, recognising that people have different learning styles.

Recent examples include workshops focussing on performance management, handling difficult conversations, leading versus managing, effective delegation, time management, good communications and motivation.

Action Learning Sets work well for managers drawn from different departments in a large organisation or from different businesses. We facilitate groups of 6-8 people to share and learn from their experiences. We have found that this has helped managers to review their practices and improve their effectiveness, whilst supported in a ‘safe environment’ of learning. Our approach is based on the well established work by Revans (1983). Feedback from previous participants has shown that Action Learning Sets particularly help people to feel less isolated in positions of seniority. If you would like to join an Action Learning Set, let us know and we will form a group for you.

This is feedback from your peers, team members and your manager. We gather information using questionnaires and compile a report to give you feedback. People have found this a very useful way of gaining a rounded view of how others see them and often leads to new insights of areas that need developing.

We are able to run courses accredited by the Institute of Leadership Management

so that your development programme can be recognised with a valued external

qualification – good for the CV!

With over 35 years of experience in Human Resources, we can provide one to

one sessions to help you identify your career aspirations and steps that you need

to take to realise them.
